Split Nylon Reusable RFID — Features
Every single-use cable tie that is cut generates a consumable cost and a task: cutting, removing the old tag, applying a new one, and re-encoding or re-labelling if required. For assets that move, get serviced, or return to stock on a regular basis, these costs compound quickly across a large deployment. This tag is built around a different economic model — the tag is a durable component that stays with the asset, not a consumable that gets replaced on each cycle. The strap mechanism is designed to be operated repeatedly without fatiguing the nylon, and the RFID inlay is embedded in the rigid head where it is protected from the mechanical stress of open/close cycling.

Split Nylon Reusable RFID — FAQ
-
The split nylon mechanism is designed for repeated cycling. Under normal use (hand-opened, not forced), the strap maintains its locking function for many dozens of cycles. The RFID inlay in the head is passive and has no wear components — it remains functional indefinitely.
-
No. Because the split tie is designed to be opened without tools, it does not provide tamper evidence. If you need a tamper-evident seal, see our Disposable PP Zip Tie with Metal Clip or Reusable EAS RFID Cable Tie Tag instead.
-
The split nylon tie separates at the head and is better for bundles that need to be opened flat (e.g., cable looms). The release lever tie keeps the strap intact and uses a side-press button to unlock — better for single cables or assets that need controlled, auditable release.
-
Yes, provided the chip's user memory has not been password-locked. Standard NXP U8/U9 chips allow EPC rewrite with any compliant UHF reader. If you require write-protection after initial encoding — to prevent accidental or malicious EPC changes — we can supply the tag with the EPC memory bank locked at factory.

The standard strap width is approximately 25 mm. Alternative widths are available at higher MOQ — please contact us with your bundling diameter and clearance requirements and we will advise the best strap configuration.
