Disposable Customizable Length RFID — Features
Most cable tie RFID tags are injection-moulded as a single piece, which permanently fixes the strap length at the mould design. A procurement team managing mixed asset diameters — narrow conduit bundles, wide cable trays, large drum flanges — ends up maintaining multiple tag SKUs, each with a different strap length, creating inventory and replenishment complexity. This tag solves that by separating the head and strap into distinct components assembled at production: a single head design serves the full asset range, with strap length specified per order batch rather than per mould revision. Standardising on one head also simplifies encoding, printing, and reader compatibility across the entire deployment.

Disposable Customizable Length RFID — FAQ
-
Most cable tie RFID tags are injection-moulded as a single piece, which fixes the strap length at the mould design. This product uses a modular construction: the ABS head (containing the RFID inlay) and the nylon strap are assembled components. This means the strap can be cut to any length between 198 mm and 728 mm during manufacturing without retooling.
-
Yes. The flat ABS surface is suitable for laser printing a QR code at sufficient resolution for standard industrial scanners. We recommend a minimum module size of 0.8 mm for the QR code, which comfortably fits a 21×21 module version with error correction level M on the 28 mm dimension.
-
These are UHF chip models from Impinj and Fujitsu optimized for specific use cases — e.g., M730 supports a larger user memory bank useful for temperature log data. If you are unsure which chip fits your system, share your middleware platform and we will recommend the best match.
-
The overall MOQ is 1,000 pcs per order. If you require multiple strap lengths in a single order, each length variant has a sub-MOQ of 500 pcs. For example, a 2,000 pc order could be split as 500 pcs × 4 different lengths.
-
Yes — the single-use locking mechanism means the strap cannot be loosened or removed without cutting. A cut strap is immediately visible, providing passive tamper evidence at receiving, checkpoint, or audit. For active tamper detection requiring dedicated opening tools, see our Reusable EAS RFID Cable Tie Tag.
